Up to the Mountain - MLK Day
Allison Crowe regularly cooks up musical soul food -
literally in her kitchen. That's where she’s
recorded this guitar version of "Up to the Mountain
(MLK Song)" - from the pen of the sublime Patty
Griffin in tribute to our individual and collective
humanity - inspired by words and deeds of Reverend
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Allison serves as her own Jordanaires - providing
harmonious accompaniment to the lead vocals and
guitar:

Piano now – “Up to the Mountain” with
Allison Crowe this Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Ringing out Patty Griffin’s song – and a quote from
MLK: “We’ve learned to fly the air as birds, we’ve
learned to swim the seas as fish, yet we haven’t
learned to walk the Earth as brothers and sisters.”
To that end we all march on.
