Surfacing - 'We Write Lists' Part Four


It's time for the fourth part in the series of Allison Crowe's guest blogs on We Write Lists:

"Over the last few weeks we've had the pleasure of bringing you the first three entries in a series of musician and singer-songwriter Allison Crowe's guest-posts for We Write Lists. We'd asked her to write about her six favourite albums, which was admittedly a cruel challenge to set. Instead, Allison chose six albums that held her heart, and influenced her significantly, during the formative years of her musical life. My family and I have been interested in Sarah McLachlan's music since our trip to the US in 1998 "Surfacing" was the first album that Mum got of hers! I went to that blog and read the review and thought it was great! "Angel" is definitely my favourite Sarah McLachlan song from that album!

Here, across Canada, it's a long holiday weekend! You're giving me a fine idea... I'm going to play Surfacing AND Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. One is the polished production and the other the rawer sound. Together, they make for a quintessential Sarah session ( :
